40 workers trapped in tunnel for more than 80 hours

Published On: November 16, 2023 - Rescue operation to save 40 men trapped in an under-construction tunnel in Uttarakhand continued for the fifth consecutive day. Workers complained of nausea, minor headaches, anxiety, and gastritis. A heavy drilling machine was airlifted for rescue operations. The plan is to use an American auger machine to drill through the rubble. A 10-hour operation will follow once the new drilling machine is operationalised.
