7 in 10 Lakh People at Risk of Rare Side Effects: Ex-ICMR Scientist

Published On: May 02, 2024 - Around 7 in 10 lakh people are exposed to the risk of rare side effects of Covishield vaccine, according to a former scientist at the Indian Council of Medical Research. The scientist mentioned that the risk is higher when the person takes the initial jab, compared to the subsequent doses. Recently, the maker of Covishield vaccine, AstraZeneca, admitted that its vaccine can cause rare side effects which can lead to blood clots and low platelet count.
