Congress holds Protests Over FCI’s Refusal to Supply Rice for Free Rice Scheme

Congress claims the decision by the BJP at the Centre was to hit out at their scheme in the state to provide free rice to the poor. The BJP and the Congress have held separate protests over the issue, each claiming that the other is stealing food from the poor. Meanwhile, the Punjab government has stepped in saying it will provide rice to fill the void created due to FCI’s refusal.
