Consumer Affairs Urges Free Web Check-In Seats in Aviation

Published On: November 09, 2023 - The Department of Consumer Affairs (DoCA) has requested the civil aviation ministry to address the paid seat issue during web check-in for airline passengers. The department has urged the ministry to ensure that passengers are not subjected to any hidden costs. Alongside, DoCA has also proposed the establishment of an ombudsman to resolve consumer complaints. Travel aggregators, such as MakeMyTrip, etc., have also been instructed to refund the cancellation amount for air tickets that were booked during COVID-19.
