Delhi's air quality has gone to the 'severe plus' category in just three days

Published On: November 06, 2023 - Delhi's air quality took a dire turn on Monday, marking the second instance of entering the 'severe plus' category in just three days. The 24-hour average Air Quality Index (AQI) worsened from 454 on Sunday to 471 on Monday. This escalation prompted the immediate activation of all emergency measures prescribed under the final Stage IV of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) for air pollution control. To combat the worsening conditions, stringent restrictions were put in place, which included a ban on the entry of polluting trucks and other pivotal measures.
