DGCA Urges Pratt & Whitney for MRO Facility in India

Published On: November 06, 2023 - Due to ongoing engine issues, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation urges engine maker Pratt & Whitney (P&W) to establish a maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility in India. In the past few years, the P&W engines that are being used in Airbus A320 neo planes have been experiencing issues. IndiGo, India's largest airline, has 50 aircraft awaiting P&W replacement engines. While P&W may do an 'accelerated removal' of around 600-700 engines, it could impact IndiGo's A320 between 2023-2026.
