Differences Among Kukis Over The Separate State Demand

Published On: July 18, 2023 - Ethnic clashes have created a deep divide in Manipur. Not just between the Meiteis and Kukis, but also within the Kuki factions. While Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) demands a separate state under Article 3 of the Constitution, Indigenous Tribal Leaders' Forum (ITLF) say that while they too are seeking a separate state, they are open to the idea of a Union Territory if a separate state is not agreeable to the Centre.
