Fake GST Accounts Detected

Published On: July 07, 2023 -The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has made a significant discovery during their ongoing two-month special drive. They have found that approximately 25 percent of the suspected Goods and Services Tax (GST) accounts either do not exist or have disappeared after fraudulently availing benefits amounting to around Rs 15,000 crore. This revelation exposes a concerning trend of tax evasion and the presence of counterfeit accounts registered with the GST Network, according to reports.
