Finfluencer Crackdown: SEBI Bars Finfluencer Mohammad Nasiruddin Ansari, aka 'Baap of Chart'

Published On: October 26, 2023 - Market regulator SEBI has barred finfluencer Mohammad Nasiruddin Ansari, aka 'Baap of Chart,' from accessing the securities market. SEBI said that the financial influencer provided unregistered investment advice under the garb of education. Apart from 'Baap of Chart,' SEBI has taken action against various finfluencers recently. For instance, in May '23, SEBI imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on self-imposed investment advisor Gunjan Verma as the individual breached regulations related to investment advisory services, as per SEBI.
