Govt Proposes MSP Purchase For Next 5 Years

Published On: February 19, 2024 - The fourth round of talks between Union ministers and farmer leaders ended in Chandigarh. After the talk, Union minister Piyush Goyal said that they had a very positive and long discussion with representatives of farmers unions. The govt has proposed that govt backed cooperative societies like National Cooperative Consumers' Federation of India and National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India will have a contract with the farmers for the next five years to buy their produce at MSP.
