HAMAS CHIEF SAYS CLOSE TO A TRUCE WITH ISRAEL

The group has delivered its response to Qatari mediators. While the statement provided no further details, a Hamas official told Al Jazeera TV that negotiations revolved around how long the truce would last, arrangements for delivery of aid into Gaza and the exchange of Israeli hostages mostly women and children held by Hamas for Palestinian prisoners in Israel.
