HEAVY FIGHTING REPORTED AS TRUCE EXPIRES

An hour before the truce was scheduled to end, Israel intercepted a rocket fired from Gaza. On the other side, Hamas-affiliated media reported sounds of explosions and gunfire in the north of the Palestinian enclave. The Israeli military stated that further sirens warning of rocket attacks sounded again in Israeli areas near Gaza just minutes before the deadline.
