India's Unemployment Rate Hits 2-Year High at 10.05% in Oct '23

Published On: November 02, 2023 - India's unemployment rate was at a 2-year high in October 2023, as per the data by Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE). The rate was the highest since May 2021. In October, the overall joblessness rate rose to 10.05% from 7.09% in Sep. In addition, while rural unemployment jumped to 10.82% in Oct, urban unemployment rate eased to 8.44% in the same month.
