IndiGo Faces Aircraft Grounding as Engine Issues Resurface

Published On: November 08, 2023 - IndiGo, India's largest airline, is likely to ground 35 aircraft due to the 'powder metal' issues in its engines. The aircraft are to be grounded in the Jan-March quarter of the current fiscal year. IndiGo sources its engines from the engine maker, Pratt & Whitney (P&W). Currently, the airline has a fleet of 334 aircraft, out of which, 40 aircraft have already been grounded due to engine issues.
