He talked about how India has significant potential, but the country's productivity is still amongst the lowest globally. The comments made by Murthy have sparked a debate on social media. While Ola CEO Bhavish Aggarwal agreed with Murthy, saying, 'it’s not our moment to work less and entertain ourselves,' upGrad founder Ronnie Screwvala disagreed with Murthy's opinion.
