Israel's first strike on Hamas

The Israeli Defence Forces launched a raid into northern Gaza using tanks and infantry. This is the IDF's first publicised ground assault into Hamas-controlled Gaza. The IDF has attacked northern Gaza, using tanks and infantry at Hamas. This is the first such land-based assault inside the Gaza strip. Hamas is known to have an array of explosive drones which they used to destroy Israeli watchtowers ahead of the October 7 strike.
