Maldives Ministers Insult PM Modi on Social Media

Published On: January 08, 2024 - The Maldives government has reportedly suspended three ministers who had made derogatory comments against Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his recent visit to Lakshadweep islands. The Indian High Commission in Malé on Sunday raised with the issue of derogatory comments made against Prime Minister Narendra Modi by certain lawmakers with the Maldivian government, even as Malé distanced itself from these remarks and asserted that “personal” views do not represent its position.
