The first phase of polling, conducted on April 19th, saw isolated incidents of violence. Subsequently, re-polling was conducted in 11 polling booths for the Inner Manipur seat on April 22nd, which concluded peacefully with a turnout of 81.6%. Four candidates are contesting from the Outer Manipur seat, with approximately one lakh eligible voters set to participate in the polls. The Election Commission has taken comprehensive measures and made necessary arrangements to ensure smooth and peaceful polling. Additionally, it has urged voters to come out in large numbers and actively participate in this democratic exercise.
