No Consensus, Election for Post of Speaker

Published On: June 25, 2024 - It's the second day of the 18th Lok Sabha and the big tussle right now is over who will be the Speaker of the new House. For the third time after 1952 and 1976, an election will take place for the Speaker's post. From the NDA's side Om Birla has filed his nomination for the Speaker's post. The opposition India too has fielded its candidate for the speaker's post. Congress MP from Mavelikara K Suresh has filed his nomination for the post.
