Opposition amps up its attack on BJP with its 'Washing Machine' charge

Published On: April 03, 2024 - Congress-led I.N.D.I.A bloc has come down heavily on the BJP, terming BJP an 'automatic washing machine' for the corrupt. Opposition alleges that politicians accused of corruption on crossing over to the BJP, are given a reprieve, either in the form of their cases being closed or their cases being thrown into cold storage. 25 prominent politicians facing probes from central agencies for alleged corruption moved to the BJP and 23 of them have been granted a reprieve, as per a media report. Three of these cases have been closed, whereas 20 of them are in cold storage, facing no further probe.
