Relief For Doctors in Negligence Cases

Published On: December 21, 2023 - The Lok Sabha on Wednesday passed 3 new criminal law Bills, Home Minister Amit Shah also informed the House that the government aims to exempt doctors from criminal prosecution in cases of deaths caused due to medical negligence. Shah said that under the present situation if there is a death due to negligence of a doctor it is treated as a criminal negligence and is almost akin to murder.... He said that the amendment will now free doctors from this criminal negligence.
