Remarkable Support for Religious Pluralism, 'India belongs to all' according to CSDS Lokniti Survey

Published On: April 12, 2024 – India's rich history as a multi-religious and multi-cultural society spans centuries, with religious harmony serving as a foundational principle. The CSDS survey delved into the concept of religious tolerance in India, revealing a significant majority advocating for religious pluralism. An impressive 79% of respondents affirmed that India is equal for all religions, not solely for Hindus, with only 11% expressing the view that India belongs exclusively to Hindus. Interestingly, support for pluralism was notably stronger among urban and educated respondents.
