Sacked OpenAI CEO Sam Altman Joins Microsoft

Both individuals will be part of Microsoft’s AI research team. Altman was fired from the company on Friday, and the news of his joining Microsoft surfaced on Monday. Meanwhile, in these three days, OpenAI got three CEOs. Until Friday, Altman was the CEO, and then Mira Murati was promoted from the position of the company’s CTO to its interim CEO. Finally, Twitch co-founder Emmett Shear has been appointed as the interim CEO of OpenAI. Altman rose to fame with the launch of OpenAI’s chatbot, ChatGPT. The tool reportedly crossed one million users in less than a week.
