Same-Sex Marriage Verdict, SC asks Parliament to Decide, Says No Right To Same Sex Marriage

The judges also agree that queer couples must be given protection. The apex court has held that it is up to the parliament to enact a law whether to recognise or not recognise same sex marriages, it has directed the government to take steps to ensure that queer couples are not subject to discrimination and harassment because of their sexuality.
