SC Warns Patanjali: Stop False Ads or Pay Rs 1 Cr Per Deceptive Product

Published On: November 22, 2023 - The Apex Court has warned Baba Ramdev-helmed Patanjali Ayurveda for making false claims in its advertisements. The courts also said that it will impose a fine of Rs 1 crore on each product claiming false cure. Indian Medical Association had filed a petition in the top court against misleading ads by Patanjali. It said that Patanjali’s claims are in direct violation of existing laws such as Drugs & Other Magic Remedies Act; Consumer Protection Act. The court has posted the matter to February 5, 2024.
