Seven of 8 Navy Personnel Back in India

Published On: February 12, 2024 - The Qatar court released all eight former Indian Navy personnel, seven of whom returned to India, according to the Ministry of External Affairs. The MEA and the Government of India welcomed the court's decision, thanking Qatar's Amir for facilitating their release. The eight Indian nationals working for Dahra Global had their death sentences commuted to prison terms after diplomatic talks and interventions by the MEA and the prisoners' families. Out of eight imprisoned former Indian Navy officers, seven have returned home, with arrangements ongoing for the last one.
