Spam-Free India: Telecom Regulator Mandates User Consent For Receiving Promotional SMSs

Published On: November 09, 2023 - The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has mandated that user consent is mandatory prior to receiving spam messages. The businesses, that includes real estate, banks, insurance companies, must seek users' approvals to send them any marketing messages via whitelisted OTT links, URLs, and APKs.
