Two Iranian Flagged Vessels Rescued by Indian Army

Published On: January 30, 2024 - Indian Naval Ship Sumitra carried out yet another successful anti-piracy operation off the east coast of Somalia, saving 19 Pakistani nationals from pirates on board an Iranian fishing vessel. INS Sumitra is the Indian Navy’s indigenous offshore patrol vessel. The Indian Naval asset had been deployed for anti-piracy and maritime security operations east of Somalia and the Gulf of Aden.
