The debate is heating up and there is pressure on Rishi Sunak to abolish the death tax altogether. There’s a ‘fire sale’ of sorts likely to take place in the UK’s property market. Why? Because boomers who built houses after World War II are kicking the bucket and their kin are finding it unaffordable to inherit the property – simply because the 40% tax they have to pay on it is the money they don’t have.
